Are Compatible Inkjet Cartridges Safe? - computer article -

The question that bothers many inkjet owners is "are compatible inkjet cartridges safe?" That nagging doubt settles in their heads and stops them from taking the chance on competitive products and potentially large savings achieved when buying a compatible inkjet product। This fear stems from the fact that the cartridges are not manufactured by the parent company themselves. This then leads to the belief that they're "cheap knockoff" products that can destroy your printer.

If you believe that then the inkjet companies marketing department has finally won. Of course you want to pay a premium price for ink that costs more per ml than the finest champagne on earth; yes that really is how much they charge for ink for your printer. Of course you're willing to pay through the nose for owning a printer for the rest of your life and never once stray away from the manufacturers products. You're actually happy paying high prices.
Or are you?
The real scare story for most people is that if you use a compatible cartridge with your inkjet printer it voids your warranty. No printer manufacturer can refuse to honor your warranty on this basis. There are consumer laws that back this up so this is now just an urban myth.
Another major fear is that the use of any compatible-type cartridge could result in the cartridge leaking and destroying either the printhead or the entire printer mechanism. Again this is an urban myth. Reputable companies sell reputable products. Disreputable companies don't. Research the products before you buy them and make sure you're buying from a reliable vendor.
Choose your supplier carefully, place a small test order and test the product. Check Google for supplier reviews, check messageboards and authority websites for recommendations. Exhibit the same level of care that you would with making any purchase and you'll easily prevent yourself making silly mistakes and ordering shoddy products.
The potential savings in using a compatible inkjet cartridge start at 25% and go all the way up to 80% depending on the type of printer and type of ink. You really don't have anything to lose in trying a compatible product and a whole lot to save.
